Make 2020 Your Best Year Yet
What is it about the end of a year which makes you hit the pause button and reflect on the past? From relationships to eating habits and work ethic to travel plans, you tend to put everything under a microscope. You constantly criticise yourself about all the things you didn’t achieve. You forget all your positive accomplishments and shine the spotlight on the numerous things you couldn't get done. You are defensive when it comes to accepting compliments and are quick to take on all the insults.
This isn’t how it’s supposed to be though. You need to accept and rebuild your core values, desires, beliefs and needs. It may sound a bit clichéd but you need to become your best friend. Someone who cheers for you when you’re down and slaps a high five when you’re at the top of your game.
At Unlocked Potentials, our qualified life coach will help you realize the importance of a stronger self and the need for a more positive you. It’s 2020, the beginning of a new year. Let us help you bring it in with a bang, both mentally and physically. Whether you need a little nudge in manifesting your desires, discovering your ideal job, building healthier relationships or all of the above, be ready to receive the help you deserve. There will be 0% judgement and 100% support.

And The Gold Medal Goes To YOU

Gold Medal
It’s time to acknowledge that you matter in your own right, however you are, wherever you are. Your self confidence may have taken a plunge due to challenging situations and that’s difficult to deal with no doubt. Give yourself a moment to feel sorry for yourself, it’s only natural. Then stop, take a good look at the path you’re on and lunge forward with gusto. There is so much more you still have to accomplish and your life journey doesn’t have to mirror anyone else’s. You need to remember that there is no one else in the world like you. You are unique and for that alone you deserve an accolade.

You’re More Than Your Social Media Profile

Social media is a great way to keep a tab on all things trendy and sometimes maybe even newsworthy but learn to take a break from it every once in awhile. You don’t need to post every move you make. Even if others do it, let them. They are not your problem. Take a breather and live in the moment instead of capturing the moment. Enjoy the beauty of that scenic ride, savour the flavours of that delicious meal, cherish the birthday celebrations through and through. This is not to say don’t take any photos altogether or become completely AWOL on social media. Balance it. If you want to keep your Insta account super active, make it more than just selfies and reposts of celebrity fashion. Give a shout out to your favorite author or show some love to a cause close to your heart.

Lead The Way

Not everyone is a natural leader but you don’t have to be the president of a country to make a difference in someone’s life. How you influence someone else’s life is completely up to you. The next time you’re in a situation where there is an opening for you to pave the way, stand up and make yourself shine bright. Don’t think about what others have to say or what will happen if you mess up. You never know what you will say or do that will leave a positive impact on your peers. Just remember that you are lending a hand and providing encouragement and by doing so you will only receive gratitude. All you have to do is unlock your potential so you can not only chart your own path but lay the bricks for others to follow.

You Are The Bigger Person

It may sound like one of the most difficult tasks to accomplish but it’s definitely not impossible. When you begin to take all sides into account and reflect on what truly matters, the bigger picture will become clear. There will be many situations in your life when you both hurt someone and end up getting hurt yourself. We all say things we don’t mean and while that’s unfortunate, it’s a part of life. The important thing here is that once said and done, take a breath and revisit the situation so it can be mended accordingly. Your words should be a display of your true self and your actions should follow suit.

Celebrate Your Now

Not knowing what will happen is unnerving on any given day. But it causes even more stress when we are already feeling unsettled. Everybody knows the future exists but the uncertainty of what it holds for them leaves nerves jarred and minds frayed. The goal here should be to dwell less on the past or future and lose yourself in the present. In order to maintain a connection with your today, you first need to loosen the bonds of your past. There may have been a situation where you were hurt by someone and are still holding on to the blame leading to negativity. You have to realize that by doing so you are only hurting yourself and no one else. Learn to leave all the unnecessary baggage behind so that they don’t lead to any unhealthy behavior in the future. The best way forward here is to focus on all the good in your life.
Celebrate your Now
This is the beginning of a new decade and, therefore, the perfect canvas to paint a new you. Not that the old you should be completely forgotten. Bring what you love about yourself into 2020 and make it a point to transform your negatives into positives and your inhibitions into ambitions.
Human nature is such that we tend to forget about ourselves and become too absorbed in what others think of us. You need to realize that you should be the most important to yourself. If you are happy, your loved ones will be happy. How you attain that happiness of course has to be a conscientious effort on your part as well. Showing your gratitude to those who care. Helping those who worry. Leading the way to those who seek. You may need to give yourself a dose of self-discovery so your mind and body are able to ride the same symphony. While all of this may seem self-explanatory, it doesn’t have to be. Everyone needs a little assurance once in awhile that they are doing ok. Why not use an excellent support system who won’t be afraid to ask those powerful but necessary questions and deliver empowering yet reassuring life lessons? Don’t be shy to take aid from a therapist or life coach so that you can comprehend how to lead a better quality of life.
